Centre drill and spotting drill bits (also known as centring drills) are tools used for similar operations. Both are designed for spotting the location for the following drilling operation. A centre drill has a pilot producing a centre hole.
Our centre drill products are available in HSS, HSCo and Carbide as well as coated (Tin, Red ‘X’ and Hard ’X’). In many profiles and angles including 60°, 82°, 90°, 100°, 120° from stock to suit a variety of jobs and conditions. Radius, Bell Type, W form, Left Hand, Long Series and American and British Standard are all available from stock. Suppliers include from Europe Magafor and Ilix, from the USA Ohio and Starlite.
Spotting drills are available in solid carbide, HSCo, Hss and Tin Coated. Available with 82°, 90°, 120°, 140°, 150° with straight or taper shank in standard and long series lengths. Spot drills are also available for left hand use. We stock two forms Spade for harder materials and Helical for softer.
